Heidi’s Village, which will open in May 2020, is an animal welfare organization intending to work with existing animal welfare organizations in Maricopa County to provide a safe haven for animals. The services we will provide to other 501c3 organizations include temporary boarding. Additional services for the these 501c3 organizations as well as the public include full service veterinary clinic, behavior training, grooming, neonate kitten care and subsequent adoption.

Part-Time Receptionist

Overview
The Receptionist will often be the greeting staff member at Heidi’s Village and therefore gives one of the first impressions. The receptionist is responsible for receiving visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately; answering, and forwarding incoming phone calls; and receiving and sorting daily mail. Responsible for providing general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates, mail distribution, flow of correspondence, requisition of supplies as well as additional clerical duties. It is essential that the receptionist be aware of and understand all programming that occurs at Heidi’s Village. Preference will be given to bilingual candidates.

In this role, you will:
-Promote the humane care and treatment of animals at all times. Treat all animals with respect and kindness.
-Adhere to the highest ethical standards and provision of animal care in a safe, competent, professional, and humane manner.
-Answers telephones and directs the caller to the appropriate associate. Will transfer a caller to an associate’s voice mailbox when the associate is not available.
-Greets and directs visitors to the company.
-Creates invoices for boarding animals including services for behavior modification, veterinary, and grooming.
-Takes and retrieves messages for various personnel.
-Provides callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website and other related information.
-Receives, sorts and forwards incoming mail. Maintains and routes publications.
-Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
-Assists in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of office supplies.
-Assists with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing and collating.
-Actively promotes the Heidi’s Village mission, services, programs and events
-Follow all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. Take immediate action to address safety concerns or non-compliance of safety rules that could put an employee, volunteer, client, animal or the organization at risk.
-Other duties as assigned

Environmental Services Technician

Overview

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for providing maintenance and upkeep for property, buildings, and vehicles. Provide an environment where animals are treated with respect and kindness by maintaining and providing scheduled/preventative maintenance on all equipment at Heidi’s Village. It is the expectation that all HVAC and Misting systems (among others) will be kept in prime working order.

In this role, you will:

· Promote the humane care and treatment of animals at all times.
· Adhere to the highest ethical standards and provision of veterinary care in a safe, competent, professional, and humane manner.
· Perform maintenance and repair of all utilities and equipment.
· Perform standardized maintenance and preventive maintenance procedures.
· Assist in maintaining records incidental to all activities of the facility and vehicles.
· Responsible for grounds upkeep under the supervision of the Environmental Services Manager.
· Work collaboratively alongside volunteers and/or vendors for large repair or improvement projects.
· Advise Environmental Services Manager on all maintenance and repair problems.
· Advise Environmental Services Manager of all maintenance that is not on the schedule of day-to-day activities.
· Responsible for inventorying and tracking all equipment owned by Heidi’s Village including but not limited to: computers, tablets, telephones, desks, chairs, furniture, kennels, cages, surgical equipment, vehicles, carts, etc.
· Responsible for assisting in the oversight, maintenance, and staff access for security/facility access/camera equipment/etc when needed
· Committed to treating animals with respect and kindness

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

The successful candidate will have:

· One or more years of related work experience.
· Extensive knowledge of maintenance and repair including various machinery and equipment.
· Ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously and possess basic computer knowledge.
